RETURNS & EXCHANGE POLICY

At Mantua Silkwear, we strive to ensure you are delighted with your purchase. This policy outlines the guidelines and procedures for returning or exchanging items purchased from our store. Please read through this policy carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities.

1. Exchange Conditions:

  • To qualify for an exchange of your order for an item of equal value, please ensure the following
  • conditions are met:
  • Items must be returned unworn, undamaged, unsoiled, and packaged as per the original order, with all tags in place, in the same condition that you received it.
  • Items must be folded and wrapped in the original tissue paper and inside the original packaging.
  • All items should be returned in the original plastic sleeve for protection.You will be responsible for paying for your own courier costs for returning your item.
  • Shipping fees are not refundable.
  • Exchanges are dependent on stock availability. If the selected item is out of stock, we will offer you a store credit of equal value.
  • There will be no exchanges on international orders.
  • Only regular priced items may be refunded; no exchanges can be made on sale items.


2. Defective Items:

  • Returns of defective items will only be accepted if the goods were defective when delivered. We take every effort to check your purchase thoroughly for any defects before dispatching.
  • Kindly follow the wash care instructions. Any items deemed to be subject to fair wear and tear will not be accepted as defective.
  • We cannot accept responsibility for garments damaged during washing if our wash care instructions have not been followed.
  • We will replace a defective item if a replacement is in stock and available. Please make your request clear when contacting us about the defect.
  • If we cannot offer a replacement, you will receive a credit note.
  • All items returned as defective will be inspected upon receipt.
  • Refunds on defective items can take up to 30 days to process.


3. Refunds:

  • You are entitled to cancel any purchase of products within 5 business days (cooling-off period) from which they were delivered.
  • Upon expiry of the “cooling-off” period, no purchaser will be entitled to cancel any
  • purchase.
  • Items need to be returned in accordance with the packaging and procedure instructions detailed below, within 5 business days of receiving the item.
  • A handling fee of 10% will be charged on cancellation of a purchase. Delivery charges for returning unwanted items within the “cooling-off” period are for the purchaser’s account.


4. Gifts:
Gift Cards are non-returnable.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

5. Procedure:

  • To start the exchange process, email juandi@mantua.co.za for address details within 15 days of receiving your item.
  • Email us the original sales receipt or proof of purchase with your exchange request and state the place and date of purchase if not online.
  • Provide your order number, details of the item, and the reason for the exchange or return.
  •  Await our confirmation and further instructions on how to proceed.
  • Once your return is received and inspected, Mantua Silkwear will send you an email to notify you that it has been received.
  • Mantua Silkwear will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your exchange or return.


6. Processing Time:

  • Exchanges and credit notes are processed within 7-10 business days upon receiving your returned item.
  • Inspections of defective items may take up to 14 days.


7. Packaging Instructions:

  • Goods must be packaged as per the original order, with all tags in place.
  • Items must be folded and wrapped in the original tissue paper and inside the original packaging.
  • All items should be returned in the original plastic sleeve for protection.
  • Ensure items are securely packaged to avoid damage during transit.
  • You may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as Mantua Silkwear cannot guarantee that it will receive your returned item.


8. Important Notes:

  • Mantua Silkwear fabric designs are hand-painted and not computer-generated. We expect our prints to look like artworks with small paint splatters, irregular lines, and tonal variations. These are not considered defects but rather part of the character of the artwork on the print.
  • Our scarves and garments are made by artisans in small batches by hand. Small irregularities may occur and are celebrated as part of our slow approach to fashion, without compromising on quality.
  • We have made every effort to display the colour, fit, and print of garments and scarves accurately in our images. However, colour variations may occur due to different devices used when shopping online.
  • Please do not attempt to return an item that has been worn or compromised outside of our control.
